The crisis in the Persian Gulf | Colonel Cassad

The risk of further escalation is still high. Europe cannot do anything yet to support its statements about the desire to preserve the deal with Iran. In this issue, Europe’s dependence on the United States is particularly evident, despite the bitter rhetoric of European bureaucrats about the subject and independent foreign policy of the European Union. Accordingly, radical circles in the US, Israel and Saudi Arabia continue to try to unleash US aggression against Iran. You can be sure that several more provocations are still waiting for us in order to achieve the unleashing of the next massacre in the Middle East.

The development of the crisis in the Persian Gulf

The crisis in the Persian Gulf continues to evolve.

1. The naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps detained a tanker with “millions of liters of smuggled fuel” that came out of the UAE. Who the tanker belongs to is unknown. The tanker was flying the Panamanian flag, but it was owned by a British or Norwegian company.

Iran has already sent a warning when their boats appeared next to the British tanker. Now the IRGC goes to action, as Teheran promised when it demanded to release the tanker Grace 1 captured by the British. Judging by the published video, it shows a small tanker https://edition.cnn.com/videos/world/2019/07/18/footage-released-of-iran-seizing-tanker-sot-vpx.cnn/video/playlists/this-week-in-politics/ , which could well be used for smuggling supplies. In any case, the IRGC shows that Iran is ready not only to speak, but also to act.

2. The helicopter carrier “Boxer” today shot down the Iranian reconnaissance drone in the Persian Gulf. According to the United States, the drone maneuvered dangerously and created a threat to the safety of seafarers by not responding to signals from the ship. The drone model is not yet clear, but in any case it cost significantly less than the RQ-4 that the Iranians shot down.

3. In addition, the United States transferred additional marines (up to 500 people) to the air base near Riyadh, and US ships maneuver either to the south of the Strait of Hormuz or in the strait area, under the pretext of protecting the shipping and “searching for the missing ship.”

For a local strike on Iran, the United States already has enough forces. For a long campaign, the available forces are clearly not enough, especially considering the possible opposition.

4. Well, in the order of humor – the UN special envoy expressed concern about the increasing frequency of attacks of the Houthis on Saudi Arabia. With regard to the attack of Saudi Arabia on Yemen and the continued 4 years of occupation of part of the country, the UN special envoy expressed no concern.

Well, since this question does not bother him, then the Houthis solve the problem in their own way.

Iran arrested British tanker Stena Impero

This evening, the IRGC cutters detained the British tanker Stena Impero “for breaching shipping rules” and took it to the shores of Iran. Tehran demonstrates that the game with the capture of tankers can be played by both sides.

In Britain, they are deciding what to do with this situation, which of course was designed, since everyone knew that Iran would not sit idly by if they began to seize its ships and realize their threats in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran also presented a video from a drone that was shooting a battle group of the Boxer helicopter carrier that allegedly shot down an Iranian drone

According to Iran, all the drones that worked in the Persian Gulf on the day when the United States announced the destruction of the Iranian drone returned to the base.
Including the one who shot the American ship group. In this case, the shooting was carried out against the background of threats to shoot down Iranian drones that fly too close to the American ships.

The question of whose drone the Americans shot down becomes quite interesting, since the United States has not yet provided evidence that the Iranian drone was really shot down, except for allegations of “clear evidence”. Hence, there are reasonable suspicions that the United States could have mistakenly knocked down its drone (as Iran claims) or threw in a third-party drone. There is also a conspiracy option that the whole story is from the “tail wags the dog” cycle, and the downed drone exists exclusively in the media space, like a little Albanian girl.

Iran arrested Mesdar supertanker

The boats of the IRGC detained another British tanker.

Delayed supertanker “Mesdar” with a displacement of 160,000 tons.

The tanker went under the flag of Liberia and belonged to the British company Norbulk. The tanker Stena Impero, arrested a little earlier, was flying the British flag, but it belonged to a Swedish company.

The words of the command of the IRGC clearly do not disagree with the reports.
